As any make-up addicts will tell you, the best part about shopping at some of the bigger cosmetics stores is the free samples. Very rarely do I think to use these doing my every day makeup, but am making a more conscious effort to do so. Especially in conjunction with the blog!
I love trying out different foundations – especially because it is particularly hard for me to ever find one I really like. I’m a sucker for a totally full coverage foundation that’s build-able (I’m a three layer gal – liquid, concealer and powder, baby), so a thinner foundation definitely makes the ‘cake-face’ effect less likely. So anything with ‘matte’ or ‘liquid powder’ tends to work for me.
That being said, the initial application of this was very similar to a thin layer of powder. On days I’m in a rush, I do like to just apply liquid foundation and this just wouldn’t cut it. My skin is terrible, so it’s a level of confidence that foundation brings.
However, once I got my full face together, I did like that it was a thinner consistency. My skin looked a little smoother, but since it was a sample, my coloring was a little off!
Otherwise, three and a half stars. For how it didn’t really fit into my regular routine, I can’t see the price tag ($56) being something I’d pay regularly. Next!
