Best way to test out an all day wear foundation without keeping your face on actually for 24 hours? A red eye from the West Coast, of course.
I spent the holiday weekend in CO, but couldn’t wait to try out L’Oréal’s new release when I got it just before my departure Friday night.
The texture reminded me first of the ‘Dream Mousse’ foundation craze we all endured a few years back – with a whipped application that my oily skin appreciated. I did my usual routine – concealer, powder to set and a trusty setting spray – so, bear that in mind as I continue the review.
Outside of 9-5 wear, I was still pretty much intact after I sprinted to my plane at 10pm (waterproof, check). A good four-hour, JetBlue nap and I woke up in Boston with a fresh face and little-to-no transfer on the coat I used as a pillow. I was also super impressed on the amount it covered my redness – see above for photo proof.
That being said, this made me break out – bad. As you can see by the photos, my skin isn’t exactly angelic – but this only made it worse. I find with a lot of drugstore, full coverage foundations tend to have that effect on me. Sensitive skin girls – beware!
Overall rating – 3.5 stars – great formula and coverage, but awful for my skin. Also, the packaging is opaque, so really hard to color match myself (I just got lucky I picked the right one)!
