My first favorites post – FINALLY! I had a lot of favorites this month, mostly because I invested a little more into the blog (which usually means buying more products – don’t judge me). Below are my list of must-haves from the month of March in 2017 – between makeup AND running.
Beats Solo3 Wireless Headphones – Hear me out on this one. I don’t just go running through the city of Boston wearing these big things. You have to be more strategic than that! I’m a whimp – a self-admitted wimp. So, I’ve been doing a LOT of my shorter runs (and even long runs frankly) indoors on the treadmill. These things actually get me EXCITED on the gloomiest of days. The sound is top notch – especially for the ‘Electro Workout’ playlist on Spotify (also a March favorite). There is literally nothing better than a great playlist when you’re trying to get your ass off the couch to run eight miles while staring at the same treadmill statistics.
Too Faced Natural Love Palette – I haven’t felt this passionately about an eye shadow palette in a looong time. I passionately feel that I could use every single color in this palette. The pans are a little smaller than I expected, but you do get a ton of color range for $56. The formula (in my opinion) is SO much better than the Sweet Peach Palette too. I feel the SPP was very chalky, while these are super easy to blend and create an easy two or three step eye-shadow look.
Kiehl’s Lifting and Pore Tightening Concentrate – I really wish I took a before and after with this stuff, and maybe I’m just losing my mind and this stuff doesn’t really even work at all. But I feel like since blowing through a bottle of this stuff, my pores are looking increasingly smaller and my makeup application barely needs a primer. It’s extremely pricey though (way more than I’d ever want to spend on something I’m not even sure works), so if anyone has a suggestion for an alternative, that would be greattt.
Rodan & Fields Unblemish – I plan to write a whole post on this product once I get through a few more rounds of the regimen and my skin is where I want it to be, but if you’ve seen your direct selling friends slinging this stuff on Facebook, I highly suggest you check it out. I’ve tried Proactiv and every other over the counter skin-clearing ‘self proclaimed’ miracles that are out there. NOTHING worked like this stuff. My skin is completely clear from the mess it was previously. It is pricey, but worth it than spending tons of money on stuff that doesn’t do anything! This regime was a game changer – and I plan to try out the Redefine once my acne is cleared up.
Peter Thomas Roth Sulfer Mask – my ticket this month has been to mix a bit of this with cortisone cream and tea-tree oil to keep my breakouts completely under control (outside of the twice a day I was already using the R&F). This has helped me soothe any really bad breakouts, as well – and I read about the cortisone cream trick to keep from picking on another blog (which escapes me now…oops)!
