It took me awhile to get the courage to make this post. For one, posting pictures of my bad skin all over the internet isn’t really my idea of a good time. Secondly, I wanted to give the products a good amount of time and see what was working and what wasn’t. But, I’ve seen dramatic changes in my skin for a few reasons. So many people have asked me what I’ve done – here it is folks.
Eliminating dairy – This was the hardest part. I’m a cheese lover. And when I say lover, I mean sitting down and eating an entire block of it, cheese lover. Thanks to Nicole Guerreiro, I learned cutting it out could help with my skin. That’s where the story begins. I cut out dairy around the time I started Whole 30 in March.
Rodan & Fields Unblemish – Ok, I know what you’re thinking. We all have the person who legit asks us every day to buy something. Direct sales can be overwhelming – even for me, that is in sales full-time, sometimes recognize that people can take it a little too far.
I had tried R&F before and it did not work for me (slash I probably wasn’t following the directions properly, that sounds more accurate) – but, as you can see by the pictures, I was desperate. I was spending SO much money on stuff that has NOT worked from Ulta, Sephora, Nordstroms and all other major retailers under the sun. I wanted to give it one more chance. I’m SO glad I did. Using this religiously and following the regime it recommends, attributed to a lot of the success of the results you see so far. I started using this March 1st through to the photo below from June 1st.
Peter Thomas Roth Therapeautic Sulfur Masque – Depending on my breakouts at the time, I will use this mask for either spot treatments or a full mask. I also love to mix with a dab of cortizone cream & tea tree oil – the cortizone cream eases up the itching and keeps me from picking at blemishes (which I am ALWAYS guilty of). The oil is VERY potent (if you don’t like the smell try diluting it a little with water first) and dries out any oil that is intensifying the zits. This is my MAGIC – these three ingredients together twice or three times a week solidified my journey to clearer skin.
LOTS. OF. WATER – Between running marathons and wanting clear skin, water is KEY. I’m not going to beat this message, I’m sure you’ve heard it before. But, this is a huge part of the solution.
Let me know things that have worked for you – now, the journey to getting rid of redness!
