My first Halloween makeup look – yippee!
I’m not really artistic when it comes to small details that Halloween makeup usually calls for. But, I’m pretty good freehand drawing and wanted to at least give it a shot- especially from a photo. I took the photo below by NikkieTutorials and watched her demo on YouTube and here we are – looking evil as ever. If I can do it, you can do it.
Here’s what I used, step by step:
1 – I did the ‘glam’ side of my face. See here for some inspiration on what to do on that half when it comes to base, eyeshadow, etc. On the side I’m planning the FX make-up, I drew a line using a thin liner pencil – just to distinguish where I really wanted to go with the purple. It’s ok if you end up covering up some of the base overflowing from one side of your face to the other.
2 -I filled in the ‘monster side’ of my face with a Makeup Forever Color Stick. This was a GAME CHANGER, when it came to filling in this large section one color. Ain’t nobody got time to sit there and paint on with a paintbrush. To get closer to the split line, I took a shading brush like this one and took some paint off the stick onto that, painting a little more carefully (to make sure it didn’t smudge and made a clean line). Red was sold out, so I went with purple, but there’s 30+ colors to choose from. For more halloween makeup, I’ll definitely be getting more!
3 – I set my face with powder – just like I would do with any other stick foundation for mattifying purposes. This was a toughy, just because I looked drug store for just a dark, purple shadow – something I probably wouldn’t add to my collection and use again (purple just isn’t my thing). Then, I realized the Violence eyeshadow from the Beauty Killer palette was perfect. It’s also kind of iridescent, which made the look of the purple side even more SICK.
From there, I created more dimension in my face with the black and white shadows in the Beauty Killer palette. I basically just worked around the areas Nikki focused on in her video, but improvised when I didn’t get it exact. I basically contoured my face with black eyeshadow – in easy terms.
More Halloween looks to come!
